Tina Fey Surprised Some Of Her Biggest Fans, And Now We Need All The Tissues

Thanks to her credits on Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock, and many movies, Tina Fey has become one of the most celebrated comediennes of all time. She has also won her fair share of fans who have been inspired by her work and her unfailing ability to deliver laughs. Some of those fans recently had the chance to record a message for Fey that she would someday get to watch and see what they had to say... or so they thought. Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon had a surprise in store, and you may want to grab a few tissues before you take a look:

Can we all just agree that this is one of the sweetest things ever to come out of late night TV? Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon setting some of Fey's biggest fans up for an epic surprise clearly made for encounters that these fans will never forget. When they thought they were simply delivering heartfelt messages in front of a Mean Girls musical poster, they were actually only moments away from greeting their comedic hero. Fey received messages of love and how she inspired more than one generation to try their hand at comedy, and it's no wonder that she was as joyful as her fans were at their meetings.

In case you weren't already at least a little bit choked up at Tina Fey coming out and surprising her fans when they least expected it, the last minute and a half of the video might have gotten you. The footage of Fey and her fans ended and the scene shifted back to Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Good old Fallon had a surprise of his own for Fey as he took the time to share his own tribute to her.

Admittedly, Jimmy Fallon's tribute was funny as well, especially when he claimed that he was 23 and Tina Fey was 45 when they met at Saturday Night Live. (Fey is currently only 47, and Fallon is 43.) Then, he went on to claim that he's now at the tender age of 27, which gave Fey the chance to laugh rather than cry outright at his kind words. He commended her for her hard work as well as her comedic skills. The moment that really got me was when he revealed that he hopes his daughters will be as fearless in their strengths and as strong leaders as Fey. He capped it off with an "I love you," and I needed a break.

It's difficult to pick a funniest moment of the video since Tina Fey managed to sneak some jokes in between the heartfelt messages. Saying that her accidental trip was actually a prat fall a la Carol Burnett was fun, but my favorite might be when Fey alleviated some of the emotional heaviness by declaring that she's done everything "for selfish reasons." Never change, Tina Fey. Never change.

You can catch Tina Fey back on the small screen as host of the Season 43 finale of Saturday Night Live, which is sure to be hilarious. For a blast from her past, you kind find all seven seasons of 30 Rock streaming on Hulu.
