Subscribe To Legacies Reveals Details On Episode Directed By Vampire Diaries' Paul Wesley Updates
Here are the details on the episode (via The Futon Critic), which is currently scheduled to air Thursday, March 7:
So Paul Wesley got to direct a road trip episode! That sounds fun. Also, he got to direct his old Vampire Diaries buddy Matt Davis, who played Alaric Saltzman on TVD (and The Originals) and has a lead role on Legacies as the headmaster of the Salvatore School. It must've been a fun reunion on set, and hopefully Legacies shares some behind-the-scenes photos.
Paul Wesley talked about directing this episode in late 2018, saying he "had a great time" directing the "kids" of the show and Matt Davis, and "being in my old stomping ground Atlanta." He even got his own swanky director's parking spot:
Legacies is set in Mystic Falls, just like The Vampire Diaries. The Salvatore School has a Stefan Salvatore Memorial Library. And the most recent episode of Legacies shared another nod to Stefan by revealing that Damon and Elena Salvatore -- who still live in town! -- had a daughter named Stefanie. It was revealed in an alternate timeline, but one that does seem to fit with the existing one.
Paul Wesley is a very busy guy right now. In addition to directing this episode of Legacies late last year, he directed an episode of Roswell, New Mexico for The CW. He's previously directed episodes of The Vampire Diaries and Shadowhunters.
Directing is something Paul Wesley has said he's interest in continuing, in addition to producing and acting in more projects. He just updated fans on that account, announcing a new production partnership, along with a potential new lead TV role that sounds fantastic.
There are still a few episodes of Legacies ahead before we get to see Paul Wesley's "The Boy Who Still Has a Lot of Good to Do." Next up is Episode 11, "We're Gonna Need a Spotlight," airing Thursday, February 21 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. Then we have Episode 12, "There's a Mummy on Main Street," and then the Episode 13 directed by Paul Wesley to air March 7.
