Yellowstone Season 2 Trailer: Kevin Costner Is Ready To Fight

Paramount Network has unveiled its full-length trailer for the second season of Yellowstone. The Kevin Costner starrer is coming back with an intensely dramatic follow-up season. Get your first look at the action and Neal McDonough’s character in the trailer below:

The second season of Yellowstone will premiere Wednesday, June 19 at 10 p.m. ET on the Paramount Network. Now on to some trailer talk! The Duttons are in danger. Or, at least, it seems like it. The trailer for Season 2 finds John and the rest of his family fighting off an array of threats.

The trailer opens on an ominous note with Cole Hauser’s Rip getting attacked. He is hit over the head from behind at the beginning of the teaser, and from there, the foreboding only continues.

At the 1:13-mark, Kevin Costner’s John can be seen having collapsed with blood in his mouth. His hand is over his abdomen, which hints that he could have gotten shot there. Given that Costner is the star of the show, though, John should recover. But, the fate of whoever shot him may be a different story.

Neal McDonough’s Malcolm Beck can be seen making his Yellowstone debut at the 33-second mark. McDonough’s casting got announced last year. He recently starred in the Arrow-verse as the villain, Damien Darhk. Based on the trailer, it seems like McDonough will keep his on-screen streak as an antagonist going for Yellowstone.

Whether Malcolm Beck and Kevin Costner’s John Dutton are friends or foes remains to be confirmed by the trailer. Beck runs a casino with his brother, and the two are described as “power players” who fight “down and dirty,” per Deadline. So, he is going to be trouble for someone.

Elsewhere in the trailer, knives are shown getting pulled at various points in Season 2. There is also a massive explosion (see picture below) near the 50-second mark. If that was not intense enough, there is even more trouble ahead. A note with a threatening message and a single bullet placed on top can be spotted at the 54-second mark. It says: “Don’t forget who you work for.”

John Dutton’s kids appear to be anxious throughout. Each of them are preparing to make various power plays during the season. Luke Grimes’ Kayce seems to be a bit lost for a while, but we may see him find his direction before long.

At one point, his father says, “We’re about to find out how big a role you play in this family.” John can then be heard asking if Kayce understands what he is saying, and it sounds like John may be recruiting Kayce for a mission of some sort.

Yellowstone was a ratings success for Paramount Network when it debuted last summer. Summer is usually a bleak period for TV content, so television fans ate up the new drama, which led to a second season renewal coming a month after Season 1 premiered.

Get ready to ride again, because Kevin Costner's gritty western will be returning soon! Yellowstone Season 2 premieres Wednesday, June 19 at 10 p.m. ET on the Paramount Network.
