The Arrow-verse's LaMonica Garrett Will Be In More Episodes Than Just The Crisis Crossover

If you're a DC Comics fan (and I know you must be, because you're reading this article), then one of the most exciting times for the past few years has been the annual crossover of The CW's interconnected DC shows, Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow. Last season's impressive Elseworlds crossover event helped introduce fans to LaMonica Garrett's Monitor and his mission to search the multiverse for heroes who could help him stop a coming crisis. Well, that "crisis" is actually the Crisis on Infinite Earths, which we'll be able to watch later this year, and now we know that Garrett will show up in more than just the main event episodes.

Including the Crisis on Infinite Earths episodes, LaMonica Garrett will appear in a total of 10 Arrow-verse episodes this season. This year's crossover is going to be the biggest ever, with the event taking place over five episodes, one each for Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and the latest entry to The CW's DC empire, Batwoman.

The information from TVLine has left out some crucial information, though. Something we don't know right now is whether or not LaMonica Garrett will appear as Monitor and Anti-Monitor in all episodes. The actor will be doubling up this year in at least some of these episodes as Monitor's anti-matter opposite, who just so happens to be one of the biggest villains in DC comics. And, you know, who's also looking to destroy the entire multiverse, so clearly this guy will be very important, even though he's not the only bad guy who will be around.

While 10 episodes might sound like a lot for LaMonica Garrett to turn up in, last year saw him appear in nine episodes across four shows. For Supergirl, Arrow and The Flash, we saw him in the each Elseworlds episode, plus the episode right before. We also saw Monitor in the season finales for Supergirl and Arrow, and he popped up in Episode 16 of Legends of Tomorrow, which had no Elseworlds episode last season. With the event covering all five interconnected shows, it makes plenty of sense that Garret would have a bit more to do this time around.

Of course, we also don't know just how many episodes of each show LaMonica Garrett will be in this season, but, honestly, don't you want some of this to be a surprise? Just enjoy the ride, people!

I, for one, cannot wait to set my eyeballs on all the surprises set to unfold in Crisis on Infinite Earths this year, especially since we already know about some cool additions to the casts for this crossover. And, while we still have a while to wait, at least we are getting closer. This season's crossover event will begin in December, and then wrap up after the winter hiatus is over in early 2020.

Arrow (which will be entering its final season), The Flash, Supergirl and Batwoman will greet everyone with new episodes this fall, while Legends of Tomorrow will debut at midseason. To keep track of all the coming TV premieres, be sure to check out our 2019 fall premiere guide!
