A Batman Veteran Will Appear In This Year's Arrow-verse Crossover

There were many eyes on DC at San Diego Comic-Con, and the brand didn't disappoint, and provided a lot of answers on what it has planned for this upcoming fall season. That included information on "Crisis on Infinite Earths," and some of the insane things that the Arrow-verse has planned for the mega-crossover. For example, we learned Brandon Routh will be reprising his role as Superman, but CinemaBlend also learned at the Batwoman panel that a Batman veteran will be appearing as well.
That news came from Batwoman's showrunner Caroline Dries, who revealed the show is currently working on "Crisis" at the moment. Dries couldn't say much, but she did reveal that an actor from Adam West's era as Batman is going to be along for the ride.
Yes, we’re currently working on the crossover and I’ve been sworn to secrecy, but I can say we do have a ton, ton, ton of characters coming into the five-part epic event. You’re gonna lose your mind. One fun character that I can announce is that Burt Ward, who played Robin in the Batman TV series, will be making an appearance.
Caroline Dries revealed that Burt Ward, who played Robin during Adam West's era as Batman, will be appearing in some way during "Crisis On Infinite Earths." Ward, who is currently 74, hasn't played Robin in live-action in a long time, but has frequently voiced the character in DC's animated specials and on shows like Robot Chicken. Will Ward reprise the role of Dick Grayson for the first time in a long time, or is he playing someone else?
Unfortunately, we'll have to wait for those answers as Caroline Dries couldn't say much more on planned appearances at the Batwoman panel CinemaBlend was present for. What she did tease, however, is that "Crisis On Infinite Earths" may further establish a pairing that fans first caught a glimpse of in last year's crossover.
DC has been super cool about allowing us to go hog-wild. For Batwoman’s part, you guys got a glimpse of Kate and Kara in the "Elseworlds" crossover, and I think that they really pop as a specific pairing. How Barry and Oliver and more of the original crossover concept moving forward you’re really gonna see that core bond move into a Kate/Kara friendship.
In an Arrow-verse that may soon lose the Barry/Oliver bromance, it's good to hear Kate and Kara (with bangs) are stepping up to create a sisterhood that will mark a new era in The CW's hero shows. Sorry Barry, it sounds like Flash is going to have to start putting out applications for a new super friend to help him take on Season 6's big bad.

The CW's fall season is fast approaching, but there's still a ways to go before Batwoman, Supergirl, and "Crisis on Infinite Earths" is here. Stick with CinemaBlend for more information on the Arrow-verse in the meantime and other things happening in television and movie news.
