Almost everyone loves a good baking show, even if one can’t particularly bake well. The Great British Bake Off in particular is one of those shows that will suck you in and make you watch entire seasons in one sitting, all while inspiring dreams of making an edible sensation similar to those cooked up on the series (which goes by The Great British Baking Show in the U.S.). Star Wars vet Daisy Ridley is one of several big celebs who will appear in the upcoming season, and she is already starting to ooze with enthusiasm for it.

While promoting her new film Chaos Walking, Daisy Ridley spoke to Collider about joining The Great British Bake Off, which she was clearly a fan of before being tapped to appear. The actress revealed her favorite thing about the popular competition series, and teased how her experience went.

The best thing about being on The Bake Off… One, it’s one of my favorite shows, obviously. Love it. But for every contestant that goes on, they donate money to charity. It’s amazing. I had the best time. Didn’t do a great job, but didn’t cry, so you know…

Daisy Ridley went on to say that prior to getting the casting call, as it were, she was mentally manifesting that the opportunity would present itself by always talking about needing a job. And lo and behold, the gig she wanted to land reached out, and the rest is Great British Bake Off history. Well, not quite yet, since it hasn't aired.

Daisy Ridley will appear in the celebrity edition of The Great British Bake Off: The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off, and she'll be joined by Tom Allen, Rob Beckett and Alexandra Burke. The special will air in the U.K. on Tuesday, March 9.

The Great British Bake Off premiered in 2010 in the UK and made its way to the U.S. in 2014 on PBS. In 2018, the series moved to Netflix as a “Netflix original production," and last year, the series announced comedian Matt Lucas, also known as Nardole from Doctor Who, as the new co-host joining Mighty Boosh vet Noel Fielding. It has produced three different spinoff projects over the years: The Great Sport Relief Bake Off (2012-2016), The Great Comic Relief Bake Off (2013-2015), and The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off (2018-present).

Over the years, The Great British Bake Off’s popularity has only increased, breaking viewing records in Great Britain. Plenty of celebrities have also shared their love for the cooking show, with Blake Lively sharing a cake creation recently that was almost TGBBO-worthy. Will anything Daisy Ridley creates on the show go viral on social media for one reason or another?

Daisy Ridley, known to most as Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, stars opposite Tom Holland in Chaos Walking, which releases in theaters this weekend. Don't forget to tune into her first entry on The Great British Bake Off, though U.S. viewers may have to wait to
