Spoilers ahead for the series premiere of Paris Is Always A Good Idea!
Lacey Chabert is continuing her reign as the Queen of Hallmark and the 2026 TV schedule and, now, it’s not just because of movies. The Mean Girls alum can currently be seen in the network’s newest series, Paris Is Always A Good Idea. So far, the series has been surprising, as it’s not just about love but about loss as well. Nevertheless, it’s been a pleasant surprise, and Chabert celebrated the show’s release with a sweet message and video.
The first two episodes of Paris Is Always A Good Idea officially dropped on Hallmark+ on July 30. It follows Chabert’s Chelsea reconnecting with three ex-boyfriends to rediscover herself following her mom’s death. However, she’s also in France for work and is forced to team up with her office enemy Knightly (Scott Michael Foster). While Chabert has mostly done Hallmark films, she thinks this concept works better as a show, and she couldn’t be more excited that fans can finally tune in. She took to Instagram to share a message to her followers, praising all who worked on Paris Is Always A Good Idea:

As much as I love Chabert’s many, many Hallmark movies, it is great to see her in a show that provides more time to follow a character she's playing. It was back in March that Hallmark announced Chabert would be headed for Paris for this production, which is an adaptation of Jenn McKinlay’s popular romance novel of the same name. It marks her latest Hallmark gig where she’s jetted off somewhere, as the show came just as she wrapped her upcoming Disney World flick. As mentioned he posted some BTS content alongside her sweet message, and it looks like she had a blast:
Paris Is Always A Good Idea is one of the many book-to-screen adaptations coming out this year or in the works, and I’m surprised there aren't too many others heading to Hallmark. The network is definitely the perfect place for romance novel adaptations. If Paris Is Always A Good Idea performs well, I'd love to see the network obtain the rights to other books and produce additional series.
Of course, there are plenty of upcoming Hallmark movies to look forward to, but the network also does well with shows. Just look at When Calls the Heart, which is on the cusp of filming for Season 14. The Way Home also recently wrapped its final season, and I'm ready for another original series to fill the void.
If anything, fans will be able to look forward to more Paris Is Always A Good Idea. While it is just a limited series, only two episodes have dropped of the six-episode season. Additionally, fans also have Chabert’s upcoming Disney World Christmas movie to get excited about. In the meantime, though, know tha new episodes of Paris Is Always A Good Idea premiere on Thursdays on Hallmark+.
