It’s fair to say that Kim Kardashian has a lot on her plate at the moment. The high-profile star is currently looking towards the end of her family’s long-running show, managing her SKIMS brand and reportedly continuing through divorce proceedings with estranged husband Kanye West. There never seems to be a dull moment in Kardashian’s life or those of her famous relatives. Unfortunately, now it seems the reality TV star has been hit with a lawsuit, and it comes from her personal home staff, though Kardashian reportedly doesn't believe she's at fault for the situation.

Kim Kardashian’s maintenance and cleaning crews are reportedly the ones who have joined forces to file a lawsuit against her. According to TMZ, the starlet’s employees chose to take legal action against her after she allegedly failed to pay wages, provide meal breaks and cover expenses. The legal documents acquired by TMZ reportedly show that Kardashian is being sued by a total of seven staffers who worked for her at her Hidden Hills home and claim they were hired as full-time employees. However, they allege that they were actually classified as independent contractors and as a result, were not privy to full-time benefits.

In the documents, the workers specifically allege that they were not given pay stubs and not paid on a regular schedule. They also claim they were not provided with a system with which they could record their hours, meaning they would allegedly not get paid for all of their hours, including overtime. Per the lawsuit, one employee claims he was fired after inquiring about his rights and those of his son, who, at 16, allegedly worked more than the maximum hours allowed for a minor under California labor law.

However, Kim Kardashian reportedly believes that she is not the one to blame for the employee’s issues. A representative for Kardashian reportedly told TMZ that she hired a third-party vendor to tackle the maintenance and cleaning services. With this, the rep alleges that Kardashian was not aware of the agreement made between the vendors and workers. The rep went on to say that Kardashian “is not responsible for how the vendor manages their business and the agreements they have made directly with their staff.” The statement also added:

Kim has never not paid a vendor for their services and hopes that the issue between these workers and the vendor who hired them can be amicably resolved soon.

This isn’t the first time someone has taken legal action against Kim Kardashian or her family. Blac Chyna, who was previously engaged to Rob Kardashian and is the mother of his child, filed suit against him, Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner after the cancellation of her and her ex-fiancé’s TV show. From what we’ve recently learned, that lawsuit is moving forward.

At present, Kim Kardashian’s home employees will reportedly continue to seek damages and other penalties. We’ll be keeping an eye on this situation as it progresses.
