Warning! The following contains spoilers from the Big Brother live feeds as of Wednesday, August 4th. Read at your own risk!
Christian Birkenberger wanted to keep as little blood on his hands as possible when he won Big Brother 23's Week 4 Head of Household, and he's done a pretty solid job at that so far. He managed to secure a clutch veto win that has successfully prevented the veto from being used, which means his original nominations for eviction, Whitney Williams and Hannah Chaddha, are on the block.
With the live eviction just around the corner and jury on the way, who will be the next person out of Big Brother? Here's how things are looking in the game as of Wednesday afternoon, as well as whether or not the person most likely to leave stands any chance at reversing their fortune.
Whitney Will Likely Be Evicted In Week 4
Whitney Williams was the popular choice for the next Houseguest to get the boot following Brent Champagne, though Christian Birkenberger originally had other plans. Well, it may be more accurate to say his showmance partner, Alyssa Lopez, wanted Hannah Chaddha out instead but, thanks to some brilliant negotiations by Hannah before the nominations, she got the target off her back. Now, the entire house is ready to vote out Whitney, to the point that even Whitney is aware she's likely going home.
Can Whitney Still Be Saved?
Whitney Williams quickly lost the will to stay in the house after the veto ceremony and was basically resigned to the fact she was leaving. With that being said, she's committed to making a final push at staying. Her game plan right now is to sit with Christian for a 1-on-1 and try to pitch a way that she can remain in the game.
As for whether or not she can sway Christian, that's up in the air. After all, Hannah Chaddha managed to change Christian's mind at one point and, once she sold him on keeping her over Whitney, Alyssa Lopez let her nomination go. Hannah has only secured that bond by making a Final 4 pact with Alyssa, Christian, and her Final 2 partner Derek Xiao. It remains to be seen how seriously anyone takes this alliance but, with Christian and Alyssa both acutely aware they stand a good chance at seeing the block soon, they aren't in a position to turn down deals.
This isn't to say Whitney Williams doesn't have a shot, though. There are plenty of people in the house like Azah Awasum, Britini D'Angelo, and Sarah Beth Steagall that would sooner see Hannah leave this week. Xavier Prather also seems like he could flip to Whitney's side, as he was the person advocating strongly for Whitney to talk to Christian on Wednesday. Still, I don't see Whitney having a snowball's chance in hell of staying if she can't convince Christian, and I don't see this being anything beyond a unanimous vote if he doesn't change his mind.
If Christian were to change his mind, Hannah Chaddha still has enough votes in The Cookout alliance plus Derek X to stay. That's assuming that The Cookout would unanimously vote one way, though, as many have already questioned whether Hannah is actually a part of their alliance, and others have secret deals and shared alliances with Christian Birkenberger. If Christian made it clear he wanted Whitney over Hannah, I would expect the house to fall in line and vote out Hannah. Whether that will actually happen remains to be seen because, earlier on Wednesday, Christian already told Xavier Prather that Whitney has "no chance" of changing his mind.
