ABC Family And HBO Gear Up For Harry Potter Madness

For months now, Harry Potter fans have been counting down the days to what’s about to take place over the next couple of weeks. The release of the fifth installment of the series in film form coupled with the release of the series’ seventh and final book has turned July into a virtual Potter celebration for those of us who’ve been regularly drinking Rowling’s magical Kool-aid. ABC Family is ready to celebrate with the rest of us by airing the first three Harry Potter movies this weekend.

With Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix set to hit theaters on July 11th, ABC Family is prepared to give fans of the series (both casual and fanatical) a refresher course on the first three movies. Here’s the schedule:

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone - ABC Family – Friday, July 6 -7:30 p.m. (EST)

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - ABC Family – Saturday, July 7 -7:00 p.m. (EST)

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - ABC Family – Sunday, July 8 -5:00 p.m. (EST)

The network will also be airing 13 exclusive preview clips from the latest movie during the commercial breaks.

To see the fourth Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, you’ll need to have HBO. Goblet of Fire will air on HBO 2 on Saturday, July 7th at 2:00 p.m., then again on Tuesday, July 10th at 12:45 p.m.

If frequent rereads of the books and rewatches of the movies aren’t satisfying your craving for all things Potter, ABC Family has some games and video content on their website.

And for those of you who’re looking for a place to post theories and ideas about “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” might I suggest checking out The Leaky Pen forum here at Cinema Blend? There’s still time to get your picks in for the Deathly Hallows Death Pool!.
