Abby Elliott is headed to Happy Endings for a special guest starring role. She’ll play Katie, a woman with a love for sports and a pretty hot set of Chicago Bulls tickets, which will put the ABC comedy’s resident gay character and sports lover, Max, in a bit of conundrum. It looks like Max might find it in his heart to romance a female if that deal comes with some sweet basketball tickets.

Abby Elliott has had a pretty tumultuous year in television, so it's nice to see her signed on for an episode of the comedy. After being fired from Ben & Kate during Fox’s pick-up process, the Saturday Night Live veteran was expected to continue with NBC’s sketch comedy show this fall. Then, in August, it was announced that Elliott would not be returning to SNL, either. Now, at least, it’s looking like she may get a happy TV ending, afterall.

We’ll have a little while to wait before Elliott pops up in the Happy Endings cast. EW is reporting the episode won’t air on the network until spring. The Happy Endings gig will mark Elliott’s second TV appearance over the past several months; formerly this TV season, she appeared in an episode of CBS’ hit comedy, 2 Broke Girls. Here’s hoping the Happy Endings appearance will open additional doors for the actress in the TV realm. Additionally, here’s also hoping that Max makes the right life call when it comes to those Bulls tickets.

ABC’s Happy Endings airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
