Ashley Hebert may not have found true love when she competed for the affections of Brad Womack on The Bachelor, but apparently she hasn’t given up (on finding love on a dating competition series). ABC announced today that Hebert will be the seventh Bachelorette when the series resumes this May.

Set to premiere on Monday, May 23rd and then moving to its regularly scheduled timeslot, Mondays from 8:00-10:01 p.m., ET on May 30th, Season 7 of The Bachelorette will follow Hebert as she looks for love among a crop of eligible men. While Hebert has experience at the competition part of this franchise, this time around she’ll be the center of attention and who knows, maybe she’ll find true love.

I’m guessing this is good news as I expect Hebert must’ve been pretty popular if she was chosen to be the next bachelorette. I’m not going to pretend to get the appeal of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, but at the same time, I’m not judging you if you’re a fan. (I watch Jersey Shore every Thursday without apology.) As far as this ABC dating reality competition series goes, what I do see of it will rely entirely on whether or not Joel McHale covers it on The Soup. In that context (alone), I’m looking forward the new season.
