Chord Overstreet Will Return To Glee

If you’ve been thinking that Glee just isn’t the same without Chord Overstreet, you’ll be pleased to know that he and his trouty-mouth are set to return to the series later this year.

There was some Glee drama over the summer when word got out that Overstreet, who was brought on to the show to play the role of Sam in the Fox series’ second season, was not being brought back as a series regular for Season 3. Overstreet turned down the option to stay on the series as a recurring character. He’s since gone on to appear in ABC’s The Middle for an episode, playing Brick’s teacher, but other than that, he’s been MIA.

?Today, TV Line reports that Overstreet is in final talks to come back to Glee as a recurring character. He’ll reprise his role as Sam, though details on how he’ll return (assuming his family will move back to town? Or maybe just for a visit?) are unclear.

What’s also unclear is Overstreet’s decision to come back. Perhaps he had a change of heart, or they pitched him an offer he couldn’t refuse. Regardless, he’s back, or he will be once the negotiations finish up, and he’ll most likely appear this December. I’m sure a lot of people will be thrilled to see him return to the series.
