Game Of Thrones Preview: Season 2, Episode 6 - The Old Gods And The New

Last night's episode of Game of Thrones was good, but it needed a bit more Lannister if you ask me. Based on the preview for next week's episode, titled "The Old Gods and the New," we may get just that. Check it out ahead!

The title for the episode reminds me of Brienne's pledge to Catelyn during "The Ghost of Harrenhal". After Catelyn assured her she wouldn't hold her back from going after Stannis, Brienne stated very seriously to Catelyn, "I am yours, my lady. I will shield your back and give my life for yours if it comes to that. I swear it by the old gods and the new." Something about that last part stood out to me, maybe because I interpreted it as her putting her loyalty above her religion, swearing to two different sets of gods and all.

We get a glimpse of Catelyn in the preview for next week's episode, as she's told there's news from Winterfell…

Was that Jon Snow cutting someone's head off? Is he just a chip off the old block, or was that just a trick of the editing? Daenerys needs to cross the narrow sea. And Cersei seems determined to pay Tyrion back for "taking" her mother from her.
