Game Of Thrones Season 2 Finale Preview: Valar Morghulis

It's hard to believe that we've made it through most of the second season of Game of Thrones. Season 2 of the fantastic fantasy drama series draws to a close next Sunday night with Valar Morgulis." Given last night's explosive (in the green fiery sense of the word) episode, it should be interesting to see how next week's episode closes out the season.

Last night's "Blackwater" focused entirely on the battle at King's Landing. From the preview we have for "Valar Morgulis," it looks like we'll be checking in with the rest of the characters across Westeros to see where things are as the season wraps up. That includes Daenerys, who is still short three dragons, and Jon Snow, who's fate lies in the hands of the wildlings right now…

So it seems Joffrey will be declaring Lord Tywin the savior. No love for Tyrion? Last we saw of him, he wasn't looking so good, but I'm thinking he may only be "mostly" dead. I refuse to believe he's actually dead, and I predict that he won't get nearly as much credit as he deserves for his contributions to the battle.

The preview also gives us a look at Starks, including Jon Snow, who may be making a break for it, and Robb, who looks ready for battle.

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO.

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way).
