NBC is planning to air the second season of Who Do You Think You Are? in February 2011 and today they released the list of celebrities who will be researching their ancestry on the new season.

You’ll definitely recognize the names on this list. Two of them are in the upcoming film Country Strong, one stars in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and another was recently seen on ABC’s Desperate Housewives. Gwyneth Paltrow , Tim McGraw, Rosie O’Donnell, Steve Buscemi, Kim Cattrall, Lionel Richie, Vanessa Williams and Ashley Judd will be featured in the second season of Who Do You Think You Are?

Created by Lisa Kudrow and Dan Bucatinsky, each episode of the unscripted series features a different celebrity as they examine their family tree and look into their ancestry. Looking at last season, that usually involved traveling to different parts of the country (or the world) and meeting with people who know some of the history related to the celebrity’s ancestor's life. Not only does the show offer some interesting insight into the study of ones ancestry, it will also allow fans of the featured actors to get an interesting glimpse at their lives as we see them uncover and react to interesting information about their ancestors.

Season 2 of Who Do You Think You Are? will premiere Friday, February 4 (8-9 p.m. ET) on NBC.
