Outlander Brought A Freaking Castle To Comic-Con

Outlander has arrived at Comic-Con! The Starz series was showcased rather prominently on the show floor, and as you can see in the photo above, it's a castle! The excellent display caught our attention and we stopped by to grab some photos.

It looks like we’re seeing Castle Leoch on display here at Booth 4029. There were fans lined up around the booth to get inside for photos…

And over in the front, there were standing stones…

And this fine gentleman, looking quite Frank-ish, handing out general admission invites to Friday night’s premiere event…

Created by Ronald D. Moore, Outlander is based on a series of novels by Diana Gabaldon and stars Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall, a British WWII combat nurse who’s on vacation in Scotland with her husband when she visits a rock formation and finds herself thrown back through time to 18th century Scotland. Starz’s booth is just one bit of promotion for the series at Comic-Con in San Diego this week. Outlander will also have a panel during SDCC and then the world premiere of the first episode, which is set to take place on Friday night.

Outlander is set to premiere on Starz on August 9. And it’ll be available online early too.

Starz Tweeted some great photos of the Outlander display...

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way). She graduated from SUNY Cortland with BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Cinema Studies.
