Oxygen To Give Paris Hilton Another Dose Of Reality

I can barely remember a time when the phrase “That’s hot” was something associated with actual temperature. The Simple Life seems like it was forever ago but apparently Paris Hilton’s reality TV show days aren’t behind her.

Hilton is everywhere lately. The girl's been making headlines recently for things like drug arrests, hit-and-run paparazzi snafus and being refused entrance into foreign countries, now Oxygen is bringing her back into the celeb-reality TV circuit with a new docu-series.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news with the Oxygen channel today. The series will apparently give viewers a look into Hilton’s life, including her friends, family, relationships, etc.

I remember when The Simple Life premiered and the country developed a Jersey Shore-like addiction to the train-wreck that was Paris and Nicole’s adventures in rural America. Then there was MTV’s Paris Hilton’s My New BFF. Between her reality TV shows and appearances and all of the attention she gets in the tabloids, it's a wonder Oxygen can find an angle about this woman's life that hasn't been explored.

While Oxygen’s vaguely mentioned plans for Hilton’s show sounds like a different approach than what’s been done before with Hilton, another glimpse into the woman’s social life doesn’t seem all that original or exciting. At the very least, it sounds like more of what we’ve seen before. Then again, it’s hard to say what this show will look like based on the network. Oxygen is home to Tori Spelling’s reality show, which is a charming and very down to earth series that banks less on drama and more on the everyday moments of Spelling and her family. But, Oxygen also plays host to The Bad Girls Club, which is a train wreck of drama. So who knows what the network has planned. We’ll have to wait until more details emerge.
