Network synergy can sometimes be a bad thing, but it more often than not leads to unique crossovers and moments that couldn’t really happen in any other fashion. Game shows are a great way to mix things up, and CBS will be using The Price is Right to throw some attention to the network’s trifecta of reality show stalwarts Survivor, Big Brother and The Amazing Race. Maybe this will finally be what’s needed to get my pipe dream for an unscripted Plinko competition series off the ground.

Later this year, The Price is Right will be temporarily jumping from its daytime slot to the wild world of primetime for three different specials, where each one will center on a different reality show. The specials will work basically like normal Price is Right episodes, only the producers are bringing in former Big Brother houseguests, former Amazing Race contestants and former Survivor castaways to team up with and play against a selection of superfans for each show.

Drew Carey will be there to take on hosting duties, obviously, and he’ll be joined in part by the three shows’ respective hosts: Survivor’s Jeff Probst, Big Brother’s Julie Chen, and Amazing Race’s Phil Keoghan. No telling if they’ll just be popping by to plug their shows or if they’ll get in on the financially-driven gaming.

The hunt is now on for dependable fans to join the episodes and attempt to smoothly win awesome prizes that will presumably be tied to the reality shows in some way; I’m guessing trips to islands, bikes and lots of surveillance cameras. There’s no set date for when the episodes will air, nor details on whether or not they’ll all play in a single week or if they’ll be more spread out. Place your bets and stay tuned. But in the meantime, can we get Bob Barker on one of these shows next season?

The Amazing Race is returning to CBS for its social media star-filled Season 28 on Friday, February 12, at 8:00 p.m. ET. Survivor: Kaôh R?ng will use beauty, brains and brawn as its tribe-splitting factors when it premieres on Wednesday, February 17, at 8:00 p.m. ET. No release date is set yet for Season 18 of the summer series Big Brother, but you can expect it later this year. And of course, The Price is Right airs every weekday morning.
