Scott Wolf Joins CW's Time Travel Pilot Joey Dakota

Scott Wolf has been fairly active on television over the years, including a role in the recent ABC series V, but it’s probably fair to say that many of us still think of Bailey Salinger when his name or face pop up. So it seems sort of fitting that the Party of Five star would be a part of a TV pilot with a premise involving time travel to the 90’s.

In the works at The CW is a pilot called Joey Dakota, which is based on an Israeli series (Danny Hollywood) and stars Amber Stevens as a documentary filmmaker who’s making a film about the title character, a rock star who died in the ’90’s. She ends up traveling back in time and meeting him. Romance ensues. And then she ends up back in the present day and trying to figure out how to get back to the past to try to prevent his death. It sounds dramatic but intriguing, and I’d be especially interested in seeing how the 90’s rock scene is portrayed in the show, should it go to series.

Deadline reports that Scott Wolf has been cast in the pilot, playing “the mysterious Franklin, who seems to know a lot about Maya’s situation, may have been dabbling with time travel himself, and could be the key to Maya’s returning to the past and the man she loves.”

It’s an interesting bit of casting for the project. I’m still not sold on the title, as it sounds like something that might air on Nickelodeon or the Disney Channel, but the premise is interesting and the cast just got a bit more appealing. We’ll have to wait and see how this one does.
