Fox’s The Mindy Project may have just nabbed a real ratings bringer. The freshman Fox comedy, starring Mindy Kaling as an OB/GYN as she deals with various situations within her professional and personal life, has sorely needed a bump in the ratings, and today the network announced Seth Rogen will guest star in an upcoming episode of the series, although I’m expecting more tame comedy from him than we got from the likes of Observe and Report.

The episode, titled “The One that Got Away,” will follow the story of Mindy’s first kiss, which apparently occurred with Rogen’s character, Sam, while they attended a Jewish summer camp one year. The whole summer camp angle has been done before, but hey, they had to meet somewhere, right? When the two re-meet up during an episode of the half-hour comedy, the two determine that a relationship could still be in the cards.

Rogen is a pretty big name at the box office at this point, and I hope his big screen prominence can bring a few eyeball’s over to Fox’s underseen comedy on the small screen. We have a while to wait to find out, as Rogen’s episode won’t occur until February 19, and in the interim, we’ll have to wait and see if the casting change-ups the show has made can really get viewership up. With actresses Amanda Setton cut after episode 13 and Anna Camp pushed to recurring, the show should have an entirely different vibe, very soon.

The Mindy Project returns to the schedule tonight (January 8) at 9:30 p.m. ET on Fox.
