Up All Night's Will Arnett Cast In Greg Garcia's CBS Comedy

Given the relatively steady stream of updates on the state of NBC's comedy Up All Night, which includes the departure of one its stars and a shift from a single-camera to multi-camera format, not to mention the order cut from five episodes to one for the remaining portion of the comedy's second season, it's not especially surprising to hear that star Will Arnett has lined up another job, in the event that Up All Night is officially put out to pasture.

Deadline says Will Arnett is set to star in an untitled CBS comedy pilot from My Name is Earl and Raising Hope's Greg Garcia. Garcia actually has two pilots in the works. This one will have Arnett playing a recently divorced man whose parents end up having their own set of marital issues. The comedy is in second position to Up All Night.

Things haven't been looking so good for Up All Night. Arnett's TV wife Christina Applegate has left the show and her role might be recast. And earlier this month we learned that the five-episode order for the final part of Season 2 had been trimmed down to one single-camera episode. It seems likely that NBC will use that episode to make a final decision on the future of the series. If things don't work out, we may end up seeing Arnett in Garcia's pilot, should CBS find a place for it on their 2013-2014 line-up. With Garcia behind the project and Arnett potentially on screen, CBS could have something great on its hands with this one.
