The Wildest Food Anthony Anderson Has Eaten For TV

For an actor who managed to lose almost 50 pounds in the last year, Anthony Anderson doesn’t seem like the kind of person who would spend his free time indulging in high-calorie treats. But not only is he doing just that, he’s doing it on a professional level for the Food Network series Carnival Cravings. If you’ve ever been to a carnival, you’re well aware that it’s not exactly the primo destination for healthy nourishment, and Anderson shared one of the craziest things he chowed down on. I’m pretty sure I gained three pounds just reading about it.

Here’s the most ridiculously bad for you dish that Anderson got to try for Carnival Cravings.

The most unhealthy thing I ate was a Twix bar stuffed inside a Twinkie, wrapped in bacon, deep-fried in funnel cake batter, topped with a confection sugar sauce and crushed Oreos.

Take a deep breath, and possibly an appetite suppressant, and read over that again. It’s like a dessert version of the turducken, replacing all of the protein and meaty flavors with an edible death knell. It’s the supreme combination of almost every kind of snack out there. The candy bar mixed with a snack cake mixed with a pastry mixed with a cookie mixed with the mother of all foods, bacon. The sugar sauce is the delicious wild card, but they totally missed out by not making it a bacon sauce. I feel the need to mainline some 2% milk now.

All in all, that’s definitely more appetizing than some of the foods that Adam Richman and Andrew Zimmern have put down over the years, but you’d probably have to go jogging halfway around the world in order to burn off the calories from just taking a single bite. But it might be worth it just to be able to talk about the culinary experience, and I fully expect Taco Bell to introduce a crappier version of it in the future.

I’m a lot more jealous by Anderson’s description of the best food he ate on Carnival Cravings. Here’s how that one went, according to EW.

The best was a white chocolate baguette with Nutella spread, macerated strawberries and chopped hazelnuts.

You could put Nutella on anything and it would make it better, even like a broken leg or something. And to have the added hazelnutty flavor with the actual nuts, you’re just asking for me to beg you for a bite. If you’ll excuse me, it’s definitely time for whatever meal I’m about to eat next.

You can catch new episodes of Carnival Cravings on Food Network on Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. ET. And don’t forget to check out Anderson in a fictional setting when his hit ABC comedy Black-ish returns to ABC this fall starting on Wednesday, September 23.
