Prometheus Sequel Still On Track, Brings In Transcendence Screenwriter
Last year Ridley Scott's return to the Alien franchise with Prometheus was hotly anticipated. But once fanboys and critics finally saw what Scott had in store with his big budget prequel, the film proved to be pretty polarizing with some calling it a total disaster of plot holes and fan service, and others proclaiming it a misunderstood masterpiece.

The 10 Most Disappointing Movies Of 2012
Looking back a year full of movies you have to remember the bad with the good. We can celebrate the best of the best and express our love and appreciation for them, but for the sake of balance it’s important to look back at the ones that we expected more from – the ones that didn’t deliver on expectations or hopes. These are the titles we see in theaters and leave saying, “Man, I wish that was better.”

Damon Lindelof Says He Won't Be Involved With A Prometheus Sequel
As you likely remember, Lindelof and Scott teased an obvious step for a Prometheus sequel, which I won’t spell out here in case you still haven’t seen the film. And while Scott has committed to a ton of potential projects, it does sound like he’s engaged in following through with the plotline that was hinted at in the final Prometheus scenes.

Read The Original Draft Of Prometheus By Jon Spaihts, Titled Alien: Engineers
Ridley Scott's Prometheus is clearly connected to the larger Alien universe, but the connection actually used to be a lot stronger. Prior to bringing Damon Lindelof coming aboard for a rewrite, 20th Century Fox had hired writer Jon Spaihts to pen the original drafts of what was originally going to be a more on-the-nose prequel to Scott's 1979 sci-fi/horror classic.

Ridley Scott Scares Prometheus Crew In Behind The Scenes Clip
As part of his efforts to expand the world of Alien in Prometheus, Ridley Scott utilized cutting edge computer graphics to realize some of the extraordinary creatures and jaw-dropping landscapes he envisioned. But when it came down to capturing the realism of being scared out of your mind by strange alien beasts, he relied on the kind of old school practical effects that made Alien such a lasting classic.

Prometheus Unused Effects Show Off What Could Have Been
Prometheus was far less of a horror movie than its spiritual predecessor Alien, but director Ridley Scott still took a few moments to scare the living hell out of his audience, even if nothing quite matched an alien popping out of John Hurt's stomach. And though you can argue all you want about some of the movie's supporting characters

Prometheus 2 Is Coming
Leading into summer, there were plenty of reasons Ridley Scott's Prometheus seemed like a major risk for Fox. First off, no matter how many times the film's director insisted it was not a prequel to Alien, but rather a movie that exists within the same fictional universe, Prometheus was proclaimed a prequel and so drew the premature ire of many Alien fans.

With the impending release of Ridley Scott's Prometheus there's been a lot of talk about prequels. Of course, as someone who covers movies on a daily basis, I had developed a hard-won prejudice against these kind of films, having been burned by unimaginative drivel under its auspices one too many times.
