Universal's direct-to-DVD Death Race 2 prequel comes out on Blu-ray and DVD today, with a cast including Ving Rhames, Luke Goss, and several ridiculously hot women you have probably seen on the CW at some point. Despite having a 2 in its title, this Death Race is actually a prequel to the 2008 Jason Statham flick directed by Paul W.S. "The Destroyer of Worlds" Anderson. Good news for all of you watched the first Death Race and were left with a burning hunger to know more. Death Race 2 also looks to really shake things up from its predecessor with a storyline involving fast cars, explosions, and scantily clad women. O brave new world...
To help hype up the release, the fine folks at Universal have sent along several clips, including an exclusive bit from the bonus features featuring the imposing Ving Rhames. The other clips focus on some of the more double-X-chromosomey of the cast, including Lauren Cohan and the memorably named Tanit Phoenix, who should really be a protagonist in a multi-volume series of fantasy novels. Death Race 2 is now available on Blu-ray and DVD, so you can find out if Luke Goss is capable of filling Jason Statham's shoes.
