Well, there’s no denying that F.E.A.R. 2 is going to both the Xbox 360 and PS3, in addition to being available on PC. So gamers need not worry about delayed, timed or canceled versions of the game affecting a favored console. Regardless, Warner Bros. Interactive has released some new assets for F.E.A.R. 2 and they’re looking pretty good. The only problem is that for some reason they doctored their own screenshots for F.E.A.R 2’s benefit.
Now you can yell shenanigans at us for the screenshots, but these are press shots not our own. However, due to this particular circumstance, I thought it would be proper to do a comparison to the screenshot comparison issued to the press. So without further ado, here’s a screenshot comparison to the press release screenshots. The first two shots are from the press circuit and the bottom two screenshots are from the actual F.E.A.R. 1 game. The final comparison is our own side-by-side comparison of F.E.AR. 1 and F.E.A.R. 2.
As you can see, the press shots make F.E.A.R 1 look unbelievably awful, when in fact it doesn’t look all that bad when the real screens are used in comparison to F.E.A.R 2. I've covered the game enough to know that the original game does not look as bad as those new press shots made it out to look. You can check out the high-res shots for both games below.
Due out this February, F.E.A.R. 2 will feature everything that made the original fun, with the addition of some brand spanking new features and upgrades, including dynamic environment interaction, enhanced graphics and effects, as well as new weapons and enemies.
