Jet Set Radio Coming To PS Vita
The Dreamcast cult classic Jet Set Radio will be resurrected on PlayStation Vita. Sega announced that they're preparing an HD remake that will be released this summer.
The skating/graffiti game will be updated with new visuals for the handheld. It makes use of touchscreen controls for spraying. There's also some mention of camera integration, perhaps to import artwork. The soundtrack will be the same as it was back in 2000, though.
"The fan reaction to our recent reveal of Jet Set Radio has been incredible!" said Haruki Satomi, SEGA's Senior Vice President of Digital Business. "As Jet Set Radio is focused on creativity, the touch capabilities of the PlayStation VITA are proving to be a perfect fit."
Sega previously announced Jet Set Radio HD for the PC and consoles. Like the Vita version, these remakes are due sometime in the summer. Sega says that the Vita edition will have all the content of the other versions.
The first screenshots of Jet Set's remake are below. If you're attending E3 this year, you'll be able to see even more the game. Sega will have demo kiosks so you can try it out for yourself.
