The playable characters in the Left 4 Dead series have always been referred to as "the Survivors." However, one of them won't survive Left 4 Dead 2's DLC campaign The Passing.

Valve's Chet Faliszek said in a GameTrailers TV interview that one of the playable characters from L4D1 will die prior to The Passing. While playing the DLC, you'll run into the three surviving members. Future downloadable content for L4D1 will allow you to experience the character's death first-hand.

The Passing is expected this Spring. Spring official starts tomorrow so a release date should be coming soon. It's not clear when the companion L4D1 DLC will arrive.
