Gamescom, the other major gaming convention of the summer, is only about a month away. Today Microsoft revealed what they'll be showing off during Gamescom 2015.

On August 4th, the day before Gamescom, Microsoft will hold their Xbox Briefing. During this event, they'll share some information about a few upcoming Xbox One exclusives that skipped E3:
During our E3 2015 Xbox Briefing, we shared the first part of our vision for the future of Xbox gaming. That will continue when the Xbox Team takes the stage the evening before gamescom officially kicks off to share the latest on the games coming to Xbox One, including highly anticipated titles like Scalebound, Quantum Break, and Crackdown. We’ll take a closer look at those and other upcoming games, as well as share some exciting announcements.

Crackdown is the third game in the open-world crime-fighting series that started on Xbox 360. Scalebound is a medieval action game from PlatinumGames, the studio behind Bayonetta and MadWorld. The third title, Quantum Break, is a time-bending shooter being developed by Alan Wake creators Remedy Entertainment. They're all games with a 2016 release date (or later) that we don't know much about. I'm looking forward to hearing more about each of these exclusives.

The Gamescom 2015 Xbox Briefing will run from 4 PM CEST, or 10 AM EDT. You can watch it live on your Xbox One, Xbox 360 or Windows Phone. Alternately, you can tune in at Xbox.com.

Throughout the convention, the Xbox booth on the showfloor will offer hands-on demos for upcoming games. The games you can try out include Rise of the Tomb Raider, Halo 5: Guardians and Forza Motorsport 6. Here are the dates and times the booth is open to the public:
  • Thursday, August 6 through Saturday, August 9 – 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. CEST
  • Sunday, August 10 – 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. CEST
Microsoft will also be holding an Xbox FanFest:
After fans had a blast at Xbox FanFest: E3 2015, we’ve decided to bring the same up-close-and-personal fan experience to gamescom this year. Running from Tuesday, August 4th through Wednesday, August 5th, a group of lucky fans will get exclusive access to the greatest games lineup in Xbox history, as well a host of other surprises. We’ll have a lot more details to share very soon, so stay tuned to Xbox Wire, AceyBongos, Major Nelson and your local Xbox Facebook pages and Twitter feeds for the all of the latest news on this exciting opportunity.
