The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Might Be Titled The Price Of Power
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is due out in theaters next May, and it has yet to receive a full title, which leaves us to speculate over what that title will be. Of course, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is always an option. A simple title for the sequel worked well enough for Spider-Man 2, after all. However it's just as likely that some sub-title will be tacked onto the sequel, and there are two rumored options for it making the rounds right now. The Amazing Spider-Man: The Price of Power and The Amazing Spider-Man: With Great Power…
File both of those under "rumor" and "possible titles," as they were shared by a ComicBookMovie.com fan who says Sony was surveying people on their preference for mentioned titles outside a screening of Captain Phillips at the Mall of America. The fan says there were actually three titles mentioned in the survey, but he forgets one of them. The two he remembers are The Price of Power and With Great Power. While "With Great Power" is a (partial) phrase that's surely familiar to to even the most casual of Spider-Man fans, "The Price of Power" rings more like a title. And doesn't make me feel the need to finish a sentence. But I may be in the minority there. CBM's poll currently has "Neither" coming in first, with "With Great Power" in second and "The Price of Power" coming in third.

What would be the best Amazing Spider-Man 2 Title
Both suggested titles focus on the recurring theme in Peter Parker's life, which is accepting the responsibility that comes with the power he has as Spider-Man. So the titles -- assuming they're actually in the running -- aren't particularly spoilery, though they do indicate that the power/responsibility theme will be particularly relevant in the sequel, which is being directed by Marc Webb. Here's the official description for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, due out in theaters May 2.
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
If we hear anything official on the title for the sequel, we'll be sure to post an update. In the meantime, read the latest on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and check out some of the previously released photos, including Jamie Foxx as Electro here.
