Back in August, long before he officially got the job of playing Quicksilver in Joss Whedon's upcoming The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Aaron Taylor-Johnson was seemingly more than happy to discuss some of the ins and outs of his speedy superhero character. We've had to wait a little bit longer to hear anything from Elizabeth Olsen, who will be playing Quicksilver's sister Scarlet Witch in the film, but now that Marvel has confirmed the actress for the part she's leaked out a few details about what we can expect from her performance and the big screen adaptation of the comic book character.

With her new movie Oldboy being released this week, Olsen recently sat down for an interview with Moviefone and at the end of the conversation spoke a bit about her first superhero role. "I'm so excited about Scarlet Witch," the actress told the site. "I have had so much fun reading all about her and I am like learning new words that I had to look up on Wikipedia. I'm really enjoying it."

That research is necessary because, as the Martha, Marcy, May Marlene actress reveals, she didn't have much background knowledge about comics going into the project. Instead, she has been heavily relying on her brother's expertise and bouncing things off of him while going through the preparation process. Said Olsen,
"I never read comic books. Comic books was always my brother's thing and he collected comic books every week of his life since he was 7. So he is who I go to when I have meetings about things that have to do with comic books. And now I'm going to know a little bit more about it, about my brother and about the world."

Revealing how she has been looking at Scarlet Witch and her presence in The Avengers team, the actress interestingly noted that the cast of characters isn't exactly emotionally sound, referring to all of them as "psychologically damaged people." As off as all of them may be, however, according to Olsen her character may be the most screwed up of all, saying. "She is a messed up lady," she said. "She has got more shit to deal with than anybody else I know." But it's approaching that aspect of Scarlet that makes the actress anticipate playing the role.
"I'm excited to figure out what's appropriate to use for her, because there's so much material from all of these decades, and we're going to tell this one story. So to be able to choose what you're going to bring into it from all of this abundance, it's really fun."

The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which will also star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson and James Spader, is scheduled to start production early next year and will be in theaters on May 1, 2015.
