Batman v Superman Apparently Has A Wild Scheme To Steal Headlines From Star Wars

This Thursday will be a pretty big one for Star Wars fans. The day marks the beginning of the annual Star Wars Celebration expo, and it's been confirmed that the opening of the event will see the full trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens shown for the first time. Exciting as that sounds, however, a new rumor has popped up saying that Zack Snyder and the folks behind Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are planning to do some thunder stealing. That's because they are apparently organizing something special on Thursday morning that will give fans a chance for a first look at the 2016 blockbuster.

This rumor is coming to us from a reporter at Latino-Review, who is claiming to have inside knowledge about a little scheme being cooked up by Zack Snyder. According to their sources, the filmmaker is planning to launch a special Tweet at 9am on Thursday that will not only include a five second look at the first Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer, but will have information regarding special theatrical trailer screenings that will be scheduled for next Monday, April 20th.

Of course, it's worth pointing out that this isn't the first time that Zack Snyder has had a bit of rivalry fun with the folks behind the Star Wars franchise. When Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was in production last year, Zack Snyder posted a few photos taking jabs at the sci-fi series, posting pictures of a Stormtrooper being put in a Gotham police car:

Eventually the Star Wars: The Force Awakens fired back by attaching a tiny little Tumbler from the Dark Knight trilogy to the bottom of the Millennium Falcon:

It should be noted that at this time there doesn't appear to be any information regarding what we can expect to see in the first Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer, though the new source adds that fans who won't be able to make it to screenings on the 20th won't have to wait too long for a chance to see the footage for themselves. This is because, contrary to previous reports, the preview will be attached to prints of Joss Whedon's The Avengers: Age of Ultron (which is coming out a few weeks before Mad Max: Fury Road - the originally rumored feature the trailer would be attached to).

Do you think that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has what it takes to steal attention away from all the new Star Wars developments expected to be revealed this week? Hit the comments with your thoughts!
