Kingsman 2 Just Cast A Game Of Thrones Actor In A Major Role

Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle seems to be coming together nicely. In true sequel fashion, the follow-up to last year’s smash hit, Kingsman: The Secret Service, will seemingly acknowledge important plot elements from the original, whilst injecting new additions to the Kingsman universe. We’ve recently reported on the possibility of Colin Firth’s Harry Hart potentially returning to the action, and now it seems he won’t arrive alone. We’ve just learned that Game of Thrones alum Pedro Pascal has just joined the cast of Kingsman: The Golden Circle as a mysterious new character.

A new report from Deadline indicates that Pedro Pascal has just signed for a supporting role in next year’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle. The announcement doesn’t provide many details into the nature of Pascal’s character, but it does reveal that he might bear the name "Jack Daniels." It’s not much to go on, but it seems like Mr. Daniels might prove himself to be the whiskey-drinking, swashbuckling type of badass whom Taron Egerton’s Eggsy would develop a friendship (or rivalry) with.

Although Pedro Pascal doesn’t have the most robust film resume, he has over time become one of the most familiar faces among numerous prestigious small screen properties. Most television fans will likely recognize him from his role as Oberyn Martell on HBO’s Game of Thrones – that is, until he had his skull viciously caved in during the events of Season 4. Additionally, he has also made a name for himself playing the darkly suave fan favorite cop Javier Pena on Netflix’s Narcos. The man knows how to portray a badass and we cannot wait to see what he brings to the table.

Pedro Pascal only represents the latest in Kingsman: The Golden Circle's continuing efforts to assemble an incredibly strong cast. In addition to bringing back some of the original film’s best characters – such as Edward Holcroft’s George Boleyn – the Deadline report seems to indicate that other A-list members of the Hollywood community might join the film as well. Among the list of potential additions are Oscar winners Halle Berry and Julianne Moore (which have been rumored, but not confirmed).
