Me And Orson Welles Trailer
You’d think a film by Richard Linklater would be a slam dunk to get distribution, but for some reason his latest Me and Orson Welles has been stuck on a shelf somewhere going nowhere. It’s received great reviews from those who have seen it on the festival circuit, but as far as I know it still doesn’t have a US distributor. This is a Richard Linklater film starring Zac Efron and Claire Danes mind you, so it’s not like he’s assembled some obscure cast of non-actors and decided to randomly film them in bathroom stalls over the next four years to examine the changes in their bowel movements. Though if he had, it’d probably still be worth distributing.
The film may not have a release date but it does at last have a trailer, of sorts. The following promo trailer is heavily focused on Zac Efron’s character, perhaps as a way of talking distributors into snatching it up. Orson Welles, played by Christian McKay, barely even shows up in the footage and even though you’d think Orson’s trademark voice is something you might want to work in, he barely speaks at all. Still, with or without Orson in the advertisingthe film looks like something worth keeping an eye out for. Take a look:
If it’s Orson you’re interested in, there’s always this brief Me and Orson Welles video clip which was released earlier this year:
