Muppets Most Wanted Gets A Packed New Poster

Muppets Most Wanted Poster

Looking at this poster for the upcoming movie Muppets Most Wanted, which comes to us via Entertainment Weekly, you may find yourself thinking, "Why are there two versions of Kermit the Frog?" Well, that's because this one-sheet also happens to be our first look at the new villain Constantine: a Kermit doppelganger, international criminal, and the one responsible for all of the trouble the Muppet gang gets into in the new film.

Directed by James Bobin and based on a script co-written by Bobin and Nicholas Stoller, the next Muppet movie finds all of our favorite furry friends trying to take advantage of their resurging popularity that began with the Muppet telethon at the end of the last film. They decide that the best way to accomplish their mission is to go on a traveling tour around Europe, visiting cities like Berlin, Madrid and London and putting on a show. Unfortunately, doing this puts them on a collision course with the aforementioned Constantine and his dangerous sidekick Dominic (Ricky Gervais), and a case of mistaken identity winds up putting Kermit and The Muppets on the run. As you can see on the poster, Modern Family's Ty Burrell and Tina Fey are also part of the main cast playing human characters, with the former portraying Interpol Agent Jean Pierre Napoleon and the latter starring as a Russian prison guard named Nadya.

With the film not due out until next March we haven't had the chance to see much from Muppets Most Wanted Yet, but that should change very, very soon. Usually when a new poster arrives it means that a trailer is on its way, so stay tuned for that later this week. In the meantime you can watch the teaser for the movie that was released back in August:

The big question, of course, is exactly what form the next trailer for Muppets Most Wanted will take. Back in 2011 when The Muppets was being promoted we saw trailers that parodied The Hangover Part II, Green Lantern, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Hunger Games and more. Will they continue to go down the parody route with the trailers for the follow-up, or will they change up the game plan and try something new? We may find out very soon.

In addition to Gervais, Burrell, and Fey the next Muppets movie is expected to be filled with plenty of surprising and fun cameo appearances from some familiar faces, and you'll be able to catch all of the action when the film arrives in theaters on March 21, 2014.
