These past couple of weeks hundreds if not thousands of film critics have worked to try and put together their top 10 lists for 2012, determining which titles, above all the rest, stood out over the last 12 months. These personal lists are great because they really help audiences understand critics' individual tastes, and it's also a great way to discover movies that otherwise may have been missed.

But making a list of the best movies of the year isn't an activity left solely to critics. Just about all film fans take some time at the end of the year to reflect and pick out their favorite titles - even the President of the United States.

The Beasts of the Southern Wild Facebook page has uploaded a page from a People Magazine interview with President Barack Obama in which he lists off some of his favorite movies of the year. While not exactly a fully-detailed analysis or breakdown - just a simple answer to the question "A movie you loved so much this past year you'd see it again?" - the President responded to the query by naming Beasts of the Southern Wild (naturally, given the source), Life of Pi (he apparently enjoyed the book quite a bit as well) and Argo (which he calls "terrific").

Not exactly the most surprising list we've seen, as all three of those titles have appeared on multiple critical top 10s as well, but I suppose that's just a credit to the quality of those films. So now that the President has weighed in, what about you? What would you say your favorite movies of the year were? Let us know in the comments section below!
