Preview Adele's James Bond Theme Skyfall

You are going to be hearing the name "James Bond" a lot this week. A lot a lot. On October 5, 1962 the first ever screening of Terence Young's Dr. No was held in London marking the first theatrical showing of a Bond movie. Naturally that night ended up having a major impact on film history, and we've (off-and-on) enjoyed the 21 movies that have been released since, and this year - the 50th anniversary - will see the release of the 23rd: Skyfall.

We've already gotten a number of previews for the Sam Mendes-directed film, such as trailers and behind the scenes video blogs (such as this one released last night about filming underwater), but this new preview is very special. It's our first listen to the new theme song performed by renowned songstress Adele. With her performance of the song "Skyfall," the singer/songwriter joins the ranks of people like Paul McCarthney & Wings, Nancy Sinatra, Duran Duran, Tina Turner, Madonna, Tom Jones and many others as artists who have sung the title theme for a Bond movie and today not only has Adele confirmed her role in the film via Twitter, but we also now have a little taste.

The Tumblr account Adele _ The One And Only has previewed the new title track, and while we sadly can't embed it here you can give it a full listen by heading over to that page and clicking on the single's cover art (which we brought to you on Friday). It's a very soulful, slow song, lacking the rock n' roll guitar that was featured in both Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" (Casino Royale) and Jack White and Alicia Keys' "Another Way To Die" (Quantum of Solace). Let us know what you think of it in the comments section below!
