Warner Brothers May Do Batman Right![]()
Watching The Dark Knight on Blu-ray last week just reminded me how much I’d like to see the story go farther. I know Christopher Nolan isn’t 100% on board for a third movie, but man I’d like to see him do one. Of course, looking at the other successful superhero franchises, there’s a reason to be concerned about a third movie too. By the time any series has gotten to the third movie, the studio has figured out how successful a hit they have on their hands, and starts meddling with things (see: X-Men 3, Spider-Man 3, and even Superman 3 as proof).
Our friends over at Collider got a fantastic opportunity to talk with Warner Brothers president Alan Horn about another Batman movie, and Horn assured the website that the studio isn’t interested in meddling with what Nolan is doing, stating, ” The story is everything and we are very respectful of Chris. We have a wonderful relationship with him and we are going to be respectful of his timing and we want to get it right. Also, I think the fans expect that – they want us to make a terrific movie – we have to give them another great movie.” Basically, the studio appears more interested in putting out a quality product than pushing a deadline - a very wise choice for Warner Brothers. Horn also confirmed that a Green Lantern movie is still in the works, but isn’t something that’s taken off quite yet. Most likely that will be the next big superhero film to come from WB though. Take a look at Collider’s interview with Alan Horn in the embedded clip below: |
