Billy Bob Thornton has been making the interview rounds to promote his new book, The Billy Bob Tapes: A Cave Full of Ghosts, set to hit stores on Thursday, May 17. Yesterday, Thornton hit up Good Morning, America to talk about the title, which hits on a lot of personal notes from his life. Tonight, on Nightline the actor will get even more up close and personal.

One of the big themes Thornton keeps touching on are his many insecurities. What struck me most about the GMA interview was the easy, aware way Thornton spoke of the carryover of his feelings and many of his ideas from childhood to adulthood. The actor, singer, and new author could not shake many of the things that made him tick as a child, and that extended into his relationship with Angelina Jolie.
“When you’re in a relationship, any two celebrities or whatever, you know, I think that puts on a lot of pressure. When Angie and I got married, during that time, I was more famous than she was to start with and then when she becomes this big thing, it’s hard in these relationships.”

Tonight, Thornton will speak out a bit more about the book and its relevancy to his former marriage to Jolie, but if you would like an early look at Thornton talking about rampant weight loss and ridiculous life choices, you can head over to ABC’s site.
