Early this morning, news broke that Halle Berry was in the hospital after suffering a head injury on the set of her new film The Hive. At the time, no one speaking publically had any idea whether it was a horrendous accident with the potential to ruin lives or just a minor bump needing a precautionary concussion check-up. Thankfully, it wound up being of the latter variety.

Berry’s representative released a statement this morning, putting an end to the rumors and letting fans know the actress had already checked out of the hospital. Apparently, she simply went to make sure nothing major was wrong and checked out as soon as she got a clean bill of health.

According to The Los Angeles Times, the quick recovery is not only good news for Berry but also those working on the set of The Hive. Filming should progress as if nothing happened and more importantly, OSHA will not investigate. The workplace monitoring organization released its own statement this afternoon saying the incident wasn’t reported and since Berry immediately checked out of the hospital, there’s no reason to push the matter any further. Millions of people get injured at work every year. Consequently, OSHA only checks up on the major cases.

I’m really glad this head injury didn’t lead to a coma, and something tells me Berry’s young child feels the same way.
