Mariah Carey And Nick Cannon Close Down Disneyland To Renew Vows

It’s been a rough few weeks for Mariah Carey thanks to all the rumors about her being replaced on American Idol, but yesterday, all of those concerns melted away inside one of the happiest places on Earth. To celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary and their twins’ second birthdays, Carey and her husband Nick Cannon rented out Disneyland to throw one hell of a party.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the park was closed to the public, allowing the two hundred and fifty odd guests access to have an incredible, uninhibited time. Cannon himself DJed during the reception at Fantasyland and the vow renewal ceremony took place inside Sleeping Beauty’s castle. If you’re keeping score at home, that’s probably exactly how she drew it up when she was a little girl.

Cannon and Carey have renewed their vows every year since they married in the Bahamas back in 2008. Heidi Klum and Seal famously renewed their wedding vows every year too, but hopefully, the musicians prove to have a little more lasting power than those two. There’s no secret password or trick to staying together over the long haul. It just requires work every single day and a mentality to stick together no matter what.

Pop Blend sends out its sincerest congratulations to Cannon and Carey on their spectacular day. Here’s to hoping it’s the first of many anniversary celebrations that serve to remind the couple just how much they love each other and how much they can accomplish in each other’s arms.
