Mexican Woman Not Pregnant With 9 Kids, Just A Liar

Well, that was fun while it lasted. Just days after telling numerous Mexican television stations she was pregnant with nine children, Karla Vanessa Perez has been exposed as a liar. Not only is the mother of three not pregnant with triplets or even twins, she’s not pregnant at all.

The hoax was first uncovered by Mexico’s Secretary of Health after his office contacted Perez about getting State help to ensure proper medical care. The not-so-expecting mother refused to provide evidence of the pregnancy, which obviously set off some alarm bells. In addition, the lies were further exposed by Perez’s own mother who told local newspaper El Diario de Coahuila that she knew her daughter’s claims were way off base because she had a surgery after her last kid to prevent her from ever getting pregnant again.

According to MSNBC, Perez told interviewers the pregnancy was the result of fertility treatments gone wrong, which, as we know from Octomom, can happen, but obviously, she never even went to the doctor. This well could go down as one of the most disorganized, multi-layered and confusing hoaxes of all-time. At least if you’re going to lie, have some pride and spin a web that’s not quite so easy to untangle.

Still, if it was attention Perez was looking for, she got a few days worth of it. Congratulations?
