Trisha Yearwood Debuts Slimmer Figure At Academy Of Country Music Awards

Kelly Clarkson may have geeked out after Trisha Yearwood presented the singer onstage at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday Night, but Yearwood herself has plenty of reasons to celebrate this year. The country singer and foodie recently dropped 20 lbs. and looked great in a colorful—and tight—dress during Sunday’s 48th annual awards event.
The 48-year-old country music artist has been seriously into food over the last several years, writing cookbooks like Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen and Home Cooking with Trisha Yearwood, as well as starring in Trisha’s Southern Kitchen on the Food Network. The singer sat down with People at the South Beach Food and Wine Festival recently to discuss how she’s been able to drop weight, although she makes no bones about the battle she went through simply to drop 20 lbs.
"Real people battle their weight. We all struggle between eating healthy and falling off the wagon. That's how I live.”
The “How Do I Live” singer says what helped her most to lose the weight was cutting out sugar from her diet almost completely, which can be tough to do. She says she still indulges occasionally, however, especially when it comes to treats like macaroni and cheese. Whatever she is doing is certainly working—when she walked onstage to introduce Clarkson’s performance on Sunday, her curves were enviable. She may have a goal of losing even more weight, but we think the woman looks great, right now.
