Was Kim Kardashian's Wedding A Bad Business Decision?

Reality star Kim Kardashian was the guest co-host today on Live With Kelly, and she didn’t shy away from discussing her disastrous marriage. In fact, the soon to be divorced starlet went on the offensive, saying if she were a smart businesswoman, she would have “stayed married longer”.

In many ways, Kim needed to get out there and give her side of the story. A lot of voices have commented on what went wrong within her seventy-two day union including Kris Humphries who called the marriage a fraud. The pathetically short union has reportedly even caused a backlash among Kardashian-related products, and episodes of the family’s reality shows have been slipping a bit in the ratings for the past month or so. She needed to do something to try and stem the tide.

On the one hand, Kim’s marriage generated an absurd amount of publicity. She reportedly pocketed tens of millions of dollars from the ceremony from the donated goods to the sold pictures to the two part reality special. As a one day extravaganza, she made a killing, but because of the shortness of the relationship, many fans felt duped and it could end up costing the family dearly in the long run. Obviously, Kim is correct in saying she could have made more money if the marriage lasted longer, but it’s still unclear whether the backlash will last forever and/ or if all that money upfront wasn’t enough to counteract the bad press.

What do you think? Obviously, the wedding was a bad decision for her personal life, but was it a bad business decision? Let us know by voting in the poll below…
