Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate is set to launch early next month but, before it does, the developers at Team Ninja have a few more announcements to make about the game's online modes, costumes and new Point systems.
In years past, summer was always a slower time for new video game releases. That doesn't seem to be the case this year, as the PlayStation Network will once again have another packed week once the new update goes live Tuesday, July 15. Oodles of new PSN titles will be available, along with a few niche imports and this week's big hitter, Dynasty Warriors 8.
It's not often we get games where you play as a bad guy. It's even rarer we get games where you play as a bad guy out to get revenge. Even more rare than that is being able to play a bad guy, out to get revenge against the good guy while wielding a katana and slicing through hordes of the undead to some trippy rap music. Welcome to Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.
We have just under two weeks to go before E3 gets here and publishers are just barely rolling out their E3 line-ups. I guess a lot of them are either trying to figure out how much they could make from Microsoft's used game fees for the Xbox One or they just don't have a lot to announce right now until the big conferences kick into high gear. Either way, Tecmo Koei unleashed their line-up for this year's epic trade show event.
With a few months left between now and the July 16 launch of Dynasty Warriors 8 Tecmo Koei has today announced a pair of new playable characters being added to the game’s already impressive cast of Chinese warlords, generals and soldiers. When the game launches later this year, the Wu kingdom will be bolstered by the presence of Lu Su and Han Dang.
Local fans of the long-running Dynasty Warriors game series can rest easy knowing that the latest iteration, Dynasty Warriors 8, has been given an official U.S. release date. You can look to slice and dice your way through historical Chinese battlefields come July 16 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Tecmo Koei and Epic Games have signed on together in a deal that sees Koei licensing Epic's Unreal Engine 3 for Spark Unlimited and comcept's upcoming Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, which will be helmed and designed by the legendary Keiji Inafune. The first images of the project have also surfaced, giving gamers a brief glimpse of what's to come.
Tecmo Koei, renown studio for churning out Dynasty Warrior games that mostly all look the same, will be shutting down their Canadian studio. However, the funny part about it is that the studio they're shutting down wasn't responsible for making real games...they were responsible for making mobile games.
Tecmo Koei is apparently going about things in a different way with Dynasty Warriors 8...so much so that they have a story trailer to help explain a game that recycles a story that's been retold by the company more times than Batman has been remade on film.
Did you enjoy the first Fist of the North Star game from Tecmo Koei? The whole Dynasty Warriors schtick recycled for the popular violent anime brand may or may not have worked to the liking of fans, but reviewers hated the original game and they seem to hate the sequel in equal measure.
The Wii U exclusive won't be much of an exclusive anymore once spring gets into full bloom. Tecmo Koei announced today that the hack-and-slash action title, Ninja Gaiden: Razor's Edge, will be arriving for Sony and Microsoft's current-gen systems this April at both retail and digital distributors.
Tecmo Koei unveiled the official box art for Dead Or Alive 5 Plus tonight. As you might expect, it features a number of well-proportioned women showing off their natural gifts.
Another trailer has been released for Namco Bandai and Tecmo Koei's upcoming thousand-army fighting game that sees the cast of Straw-Hat Pirates taking down all sorts of nasty bad guys. The trailer looks pretty good and contains a lot of recycled footage from the previous teaser and the full first trailer, but gamers get to see a few more specials on display and a few more bad guys getting their butts kicked.
Soon Dead or Alive 5 will make it easier for players to share their match replays. The next patch for the fighting game will allow replays to be directly uploaded to the Internet. The new feature will be added to both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. 360 players will be able to upload their replays to Facebook.
Some brand new screenshots have emerged for Tecmo Koei's upcoming hack-and-slash, thousand army beat-e'm-up, Dynasty Warriors 8. The shots are contained to feature only a select few members of the grand roster in Omega Force's over-the-top portrayal of the trio of dynasty war heroes, but you'll be pleasantly surprised to see what sort of hardware a few of them come equipped with.
