Lead-In For The Finder Available With Bones' Season 6 DVD In October
I’m pretty bummed I have to turn in my DVR tomorrow. Along with the NBA and NHL final games this season, I’ve managed to hold on to most of Season 6 of Bones. Those lease endings are kind of a bitch, but luckily I won’t have to wait too long to get my hands on a hard copy. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will be releasing Bones Season 6 onto DVD and Blu-Ray October 11.
It’s easy to fall into the trap of buying whatever season of a show is on sale, especially when it comes to crime shows where character storylines are less important. However, I would argue there are four key reasons to pick up Season 6 of Bones. It’s one of only a couple of seasons of Bones that are available on Blu-Ray. The season also featured a tumultuous death and a sniper plotline that didn’t end particularly satisfactorily, but was a hell of a ride. Plus, Season 6 featured a lead-in for The Finder, where Brennan’s group teamed up with detail-genius Walter Sherman and co.
The disc, on the other hand, is not the best reason I’ve ever encountered to buy a season of TV. Extras will include audio commentary with the episodes “The Doctor in the Photo” and “The Blackout in the Blizzard” and extended cuts with two other episodes. A cast gag reel will also be available. Rounding out the special features will be a featurette about visual effects used during Bones. The special features with the set for the most part look entertaining, but there isn’t anything that looks to be a must-see and in fact there isn’t a lot overall. Don’t let that deter you. If you have any passion for the program, Season 6 of Bones is a great buy.
