We recently got a first-look video of Brooks Nader, Livvy Dunne and all the rest of the lifeguards who will be suiting up to keep beach-goers safe in the upcoming Baywatch reboot, and there’s little doubt that they’ve assembled quite an impressively attractive cast. This may be Brooks Nader’s first acting gig, but her stories about sneaking bikinis just further prove why she’s the perfect fit for the Fox series.

Brooks Nader will play Selene Archer on the new Baywatch, who is described as a “sharp-tongued” lifeguard captain. She says there are some similarities between Selene and herself, and I can’t help but wonder if that includes a rebellious side. Nader grew up in conservative South Louisiana, and two-piece swimsuits were banned in her house. That didn’t stop her, though, as she told the New York Post:

I do have early memories of sneaking into Victoria’s Secret and buying bikinis and going skinny dipping and stuff. That was when I was like, ‘OK, I think I can do both, bikini and one-piece.’ And now I’m in a one-piece every day for Baywatch, so it’s ironic.

Whether she’s sporting a one-piece, two-piece or, apparently, zero pieces, Brooks Nader was always in the water growing up, making her introductory acting role quite the natural one. I’d also agree that she’s proven she can be a bikini girl and still rock the classic red swimsuit with the best of them.

I mean, she proved that back in 2023 on her famous Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition cover. Brooks Nader said it was that moment she knew she was destined to join the swimsuit-clad cast of Baywatch. She continued:

That was when I got the idea of like, ‘I really want to be in ‘Baywatch,’ and I didn’t even know they were doing a reboot, but I love how the universe works.

That’s some pretty strong manifestation!

So while we’re around the topic of the Love Thy Nader star’s Baton Rouge upbringing, how did her family react to her joining the Baywatch reboot? No word on whether Papa Nader was relieved that the Baywatch lifeguards wear one-pieces — it sounds like her parents were just surprised at her pivot into scripted TV. Brooks Nader’s sisters, meanwhile, used the opportunity to poke fun at her.

In the upcoming series, Serene has a contentious relationship with fellow lifeguard captain Hobie Buchannon (Stephen Amell), which only becomes more tense when Hobie brings his daughter Charlie (Jessica Belkin) on board.

The Fox series’ first season will feature 12 episodes, but it’s not making its premiere on the 2026 TV schedule (which might be a big mistake on Fox’s part). Instead, the new Baywatch will debut midseason in January 2027.

I’m excited to see Brooks Nader’s slo-mo running, as well as the results of all the work she’s put into perfecting mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Don’t miss her, Hassie Harrison and the rest of the lifeguards coming to our screens next year.
