Can you keep a secret? The Malloys are certainly trying to. This conniving family survived one season of the FX original series The Riches; can they continue living the dream for another? Thanks to Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment you can find out for yourself when the second season of The Riches is released on DVD March 24th.
Wayne (Eddie Izzard) and Dahlia (Minnie Driver) Malloy are Irish Traveller con artists. The couple, along with their three children Di Di (Shannon Woodward), Sam (Aidan Mitchell) and Cael (Noel Fisher), get into a car accident killing a wealthy couple. Rather than reporting the incident, the Malloys opt to take the couple’s life and become the Riches. In order to maintain their new existence, the family must strive to adapt to their new life and keep the remnants of their old life in the past. The second season focuses on Dahlia and the children on the open road while Wayne is attempting to pull off one last con that would permit his family to stop running forever.
This two-disc set includes all seven episodes from the show’s final season in addition to a featurette called “Eddie Izzard: Revealed.” This clever plot can easily pull you into the Malloy’s world of deception. Between the novel story and star power of Driver and Izzard, you’d think you have a sure hit. Perhaps the excitement of the series gave it the power for a short sprint but not to run the distance. Regardless, The Riches provides several hours of entertainment worth the $29.98.
