The Star Wars Battlefront II Gameplay Trailer Visits Every Star Wars Era

During the EA Play press conference the first major gameplay trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront II was revealed featuring some all new maps, units, and weapons set to arrive when the game launches on November 10th.

The trailer starts with the Stormtroopers from the First Order in a ship, and then it moves on to show the one thing everybody was asking about: The Clone Troopers.

We get shots of the Separatist droids and then we get to see Darth Maul doing what he does best. The trailer finally transitions into the actual gameplay where we see Darth Maul slicing and dicing the Clones down as if he were a hot knife cutting through warm butter.

The trailer moves us through Theed on Naboo, which starts in the courtyard where the Separatist will first have to escort the carriers up to the palace gates, and then they must attempt to infiltrate the palace to take over Amidala's abode.

The trailer focuses on the courtyard gameplay in Star Wars: Battlefront II, where we see the different classes and their weapons in action. This includes class-specific weapons for the new heavy classes, the assault class, the scout class, special class, and the support class. The class system is designed just like Pandemic's old Star Wars: Battlefront and players will be able to unlock and upgrade the classes to access new content.

We get a quick clip in the trailer of one of the new planets, along with one of the new vehicles that they only briefly showcase -- it's some sort of two-seater transport with what appears to be twin lasers on the front. This is one of the few vehicles and new features set to arrive in DICE's Star Wars: Battlefront II.

Another neat feature that you probably didn't expect to see in DICE's upcoming sequel is that the Death Troopers from Star Wars: Rogue One will make an appearance in the game. I'm sure a lot of gamers would love to get their hands on them. We briefly see the Death Troopers patrolling through the Yavin-4 jungles with the Jedi temples lining the background.

Another shot of Boba Fett on Tatooine quickly showcases the bounty hunter gunning down soldiers. We then see another new map added to the game based on Naboo's plasma refinery. We see Yoda and Darth Maul duking it out while the plasma beams pulsate and phase in the background. We don't see any soldiers on the map so it's possible it's a duel map or a Hero map where only heroes are allowed to play on it. We'll have to wait and see.

We then see Rey and Kylo Ren from The Force Awakens fighting in a lightsaber duel but I have no idea where the fight is taking place. The trailer rounds out with a space battle between X-Wings, Tie Fighters and the Millennium Falcon through an asteroid field. Star Wars: Battlefront II is due out November 17th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The game will also feature some free DLC that they outlined over on the Battlefront website.
