One of the more interesting Legendary Pokemon in the newer series is Lycanroc. The multi-stage evolutionary Pokemon has consistently been receiving new forms, and gamers have even discovered that there's yet another new form for the Pokemon that has been discovered that no one knew about before.

According to the Pokemon website, the new form for Lycanroc is called Dusk Form. It's only available in the upcoming Pokemon Ultra Sun or Pokemon Ultra Moon for the Nintendo 3DS. The new Dusk Form for Lycanroc is a new form for the Pokemon that's different from the Midday Form and the Midnight Form.

The site notes that you will not be able to obtain the new Dusk Form Lycanroc through standard means, and that you will have to take some special steps in order to get your hands on this ultra rare Pokemon. For instance, it's made known that you will not be able to capture the Lycanroc out in the wild.

Originally, the Lycanroc is the evolved form of the Rockruff. The thing is, unlike other Pokemon simply leveling up the pocket monster and attempting to evolve, that isn't the only variable involved with its evolution. If you have Pokemon Sun and level-up Rockruff during the day, it will evolve into a Midday Form Lycanroc. If you have Pokemon Moon and level-up a Rockruff at night, it will evolve into the werewolf-looking Midnight Form Lycanroc.

There's no mention if evolving into Dusk Form Lycanroc requires a previous evolution into Midnight Form or Midday Form in order to achieve Dusk Form. There's also no mention if you will need Pokemon Ultra Sun or Pokemon Ultra Moon to achieve Dusk Form. The site mentions both games, but as evident with previous evolutions of Lycanroc, only certain forms can be achieved in certain games.

The different forms for Lycanroc differ greatly in both behavior and attacks. The Midday Form is closer to a pet, is more loyal and reliant on its trainer, able to use its speed and quickness to attack and confuse enemies, and is equipped with claws and rocks to deal damage to opponents.

The Midnight Form is a lot more dangerous, and the more dangerous its opponent, the more dangerous it becomes. The Midnight Form has a tendency to completely disregard its trainer and recklessly attack its opponent, throwing caution and care to the wind. The Midnight Form also relies mostly on brute force and crushing attacks to incapacitate its opponents.

We have no idea exactly what the Dusk Form for Lycanroc is like in terms of its abilities or behavior, whether it will be closer to the likes of the Midday Form or the Midnight Form is tough to tell. It might nestle somewhere in between. When it comes to Pokemon, the developers can sometimes throw in swerve balls just to keep people off their game.

Sadly we'll have to wait to find out exactly what the Dusk Form is all about and whether or not it will be an improvement over the Midnight or Midday Lycanroc.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon are due out this November for the Nintendo 3DS.
